muses

How does a person quantify or physicalize inspiration, and the things that humans latch onto as a muse? MUSES explores what precisely sparks creativity, whether it be the people that came before us, a story that has yet to be told, or even the lack of a muse itself. Through experimenting with experimental poetry, MUSES hopes to inspire the audience to find their next muse as well.

about nicola

Nicola Bailey is a 17 year-old writer from California who dabbles in prose, poetics, and whatever inspires her in that current moment. Additionally, Nicola is the recipient of the national and state New York Life Awards and National Gold and Silver Scholastic Medals. Whenever she is not writing exceptionally long run-on sentences or playing with line breaks, she is creating stories in some other way, whether that be through acting or something else.

so no creation/

leads to no muses/

to be deities for/

throughout movement in the day. to see what i say and to hear

what i look at because there is always something to muse over, to

amuse, to be musing for. and without a muse, there is none of

that. but without that, there is no muse.

(and there are no lines in my hand).
